The last couple of weeks have been rough. The corornavirus really affected my internship and made it so that a lot of work was just done from home or not at all. I proboably won’t be able to go back to my internship until the summer and I hope that virus is gone by then. I was thinking of making this blog post as a reflection on what are some good ideas to do for others to do when starting their internship.
If I could reflect on my internship and say anything it would be, build a really good relationship with your site supervisor in terms of making the most of your opportunity. I think it’s really important to do the work as diligently as possible for your internship as the more you put in the better results you’ll get. I guess a lot of myths about internships, especially in computer science is you’ll be doing only data entry. The thing is you’ll only be doing data entry if you don’t have very much knowledge of the subject but if you show to your supervisor that you actually have the initiative and the girt to want to go forward and do more your site supervisor or your boss, I guess, will give you more opportunities and make you do more so I’ll give you an example of this when I first started my internship my boss actually made me start by putting data through google spreadsheets and organizing documents. I really didn’t like it that much but I did all of the work though, and I did tell her exactly what I wanted to do for the future so now she has let me test the artificial intelligent algorithm and she also has let me completely redesign and build a brand new website to work too.
My experience from my internship helped me get my current job which is a website designer for a marketing agency. I am paid a handsome $500 per website I build and the work is also very fun. I am happy with what I have accomplished so far and look forward to much more to experience in the future.

My Internship is continuing to go very smoothly as we test different aspects of the website in the AI-powered resume corrector and all the career skill surveys and such. Mrs. Bharti has also been telling us about her plans to create a new website that is not exclusive like her current website. This website would be widely available to any University instead of just the Ivy League’s and top 30. We have been discussing with her different ways that could work.
Additionally, we have been having some creative conversations on how we could develop the marketing behind Genius Mesh and get more people at elite universities to sign up. each one of us came up with for creative marketing strategies that Genius Mesh could implement and we are considering all the implications of them. I really like the idea of using a guerrilla marketing strategy paired with a brand new technology that no one else has brought to market and extreme marketing that that to the unique audience. Mrs. Bharti was also talking to us about her idea of developing an app for Genius Mesh instead of just a website. They were first going to develop for iOS and she wanted us to be able to test that app maybe during the summer.
So far, there has been no real talk about the coronavirus although if you read the news you can see that is becoming a bigger and bigger deal every single day. I’m curious to see how the coronavirus is going to affect our small business as is affecting so many other businesses around the globe. I think that since we are a tech company it would be a little bit less than of a problem for us except maybe consumer spending may reduce drastically. it could also be a good thing for our brand since we are online and it could help people connect especially as colleges close and all. Looking forward to the next couple of weeks.

My internship has been going well for a many weeks now. The most important thing has been communication. I have all kept a good amount of communication with my fellow interns and we have had a good time on our calls or if we are in person. Most importantly, I have kept the communication high with Mrs. Bharti and Mrs. McCarthy. Since this internship program has become pretty large with 4 interns now, communication has been helping to make sure it runs smoothly.
We finally finished and presented the GeniusMesh Marketing Analysis to Mrs. Bharti. She looked it over and she loved it. She now has given us another task involving testing aspects of the website for her that her off-shore has currently been working on. This means we were fortunate to be able to listen in on some developer calls that happen at 6-8 in the morning on workdays. That has been an interesting experience and it has helped us better test the products for GeniusMesh. Currently, we are testing the AI-powered resume corrector and career/skills surveys. This has been really cool since it has help us with our own skills and career as well and we get to use the service for free!
Overall, this first couple of weeks of my internship this year has gone quite smoothly, something that I am very happy to say. I hope that I can soon start expanding my workload and begin doing tasks that may have initially out of my reach. With that said, I definitely think that what Genius Mesh has offered me so far is an unparalleled glimpse into the world of entrepreneurialism.

My internship has been going very well. The interns I have are very excited to work and it makes my job much easier. Anand always says “He is happy to not be required to wear any professional attire.” I personally like the ability to choose when and where I work as most of my work is off-site. This means that I have the luxury of being able to work either during the day or the night, just as long as I have my work completed by the deadline it doesn’t matter to my employer.
Speaking of our first assignment, the GeniusMesh Market Analysis has been taking a bit longer than I expected. The research and time needed was more than I expected so I had to reach out to the Marketing Director and she let us have one extra week to put everything together. With that I said, I have been working on my part of the Market Analysis and also making it look professional with a Table of Contents and Works Cited. The interns have been doing there part as well. We are excited to present it to Mrs. Bharti next week.
My other SMART goal of learning the finances of GeniusMesh has been going well too. I learned that GeniusMesh is not losing money and is running cash flow positive. It is easy to maintain the website and the most expensive thing to run in the AWS server. Marketing is the second most expensive thing and there is also a lot of employees who travel to universities to talk about the website. These are the costs that are significant in the company. Nevertheless, the company is doing well financially and it is too bad that we don’t get paid for our work because of the Fulton County Internship Program rules. At least we should be offered job be GeniusMesh after this internship is over!

Over the past year, I have been interning at a tech startup company known as Genius Mesh, located in Alpharetta, Georgia. I have been learning from zoom calls with some of the company’s developers offshores and leading my own team with work analyzing and diagnosing any problems we see on the company’s website. I also have been working on my SMART goals and seeing how I can go about achieving them and seeing if they are even achievable at all.
We currently have been working on a Market Analysis for Mrs. Bharti and it has been going very well. I first had to learn how to write a Market Analysis and that took some time. I read several articles before I typed up a draft for what we would have to answer in our Market Analysis. After that, I sent that draft to Mrs. Bharti and she redirected it to her marketing director. The marketing director viewed our Market Analysis and thought it was well put together and she was excited to see the result after we researched everything further. After that, I had a call with the other interns and I divided the research up between them and we got to work making sure it was factual and significant information.
As for my SMART goals, one of them was getting GeniusMesh in contact with one of my professional colleges on LinkedIn. He calls himself the “The LinkedIn Guy” because he has created a significant brand for himself with the help of LinkedIn. He is so popular in professional branding that Microsoft (who owns LinkedIn) has reached out to him to do classes on there. I want to get him in contact with Mrs. Bharti since GeniusMesh does professional branding for a niche base (E-MBA) students. I have been working on that and it has been going well. Overall the first couple of weeks of my internship have been going well.
